Job summary

Cosworth Ltd is seeking a Production assembler on a fixed-term basis to join our team. You will assemble high-quality, complex electronic products for leading Motorsport customers, following detailed engineering specifications and quality standards.

You will interpret assembly instructions, build to documented processes, and ensure first-pass quality with no rework. IPC-A-610 compliance, precise soldering, and meticulous traceability are essential in this high-performance environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and documentation.
  • High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail; demonstrable soldering capability.
  • Experience of soldering to IPC-A-610 standards is desirable; however training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong commitment to quality and first-pass build principles.
  • Ability to work methodically and patiently on complex assemblies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small team.

  • Manage workload to meet delivery deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Respond to changing priorities and urgent production needs.
  • Stay composed under pressure ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Consider health and safety, environmental, and energy impact of all activities.

Job Description:

As a key member of our Production team on a fixed-term basis, you will assemble high-quality, complex electronic products for leading Motorsport customers. Working to detailed engineering specifications and exacting quality standards, you will use precision assembly and soldering skills to ensure products are built right first time and delivered to the standards expected within a high-performance Motorsport environment.


The Role:


  • Assemble complex electronic products for leading Motorsport customers in line with engineering specifications.

  • Interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and build documentation accurately.

  • Build products in accordance with documented processes, achieving first-pass quality with no rework.

  • Work to IPC-A-610 electro-mechanical standards, maintaining compliance at all times.

Candidate Profile:

Essential


  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical assembly.

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and technical documentation.

  • High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail. Demonstrable soldering capability.

  • Experience of soldering to IPC-A-610 standards is desirable; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.

  • Strong commitment to quality and first-pass build principles.

  • Ability to work methodically and patiently on complex assemblies.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small team environment.

  • Able to manage workload, handle pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.


Desirable


  • Formal IPC-A-610 certification.

  • Experience within Motorsport, automotive electronics or high-performance engineering environments.

  • Experience in product testing and controlled power-up procedures.

  • Familiarity with encapsulation processes and final product presentation standards.
