Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Senior Technician in Milton Keynes for an established engineering business. The role involves hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly, testing and development of specialist products within a high-precision environment.

You will work from engineering drawings, support build processes and assist with investigations and training. The position is Monday to Friday, with a salary of £40,000–£44,000 and based in Milton Keynes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an engineering workshop.
• Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Motorsport or a similar high-precision environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Technician to join an established engineering business in Milton Keynes.

This is a hands‑on role working within a technical engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the assembly, testing and development of specialist products.

The Role

• Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly
• Work from engineering drawings, build cards and assembly instructions
• Complete mechanical and electrical testing and measurements
• Support the development and improvement of build processes
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Project Engineers
• Assist with investigations and controlled strip‑downs of equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Ensure tooling and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose
• Support continuous improvement activities
• Assist with training and mentoring other technicians
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

Requirements

• Relevant practical Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
• 5+ years' experience in an engineering workshop environment
• Experience within Automotive, Aerospace, Motorsport or a similar high-precision environment
• Strong mechanical assembly experience
• Good understanding of electrical systems and testing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment
