Location and Contract Details

Based on site in Stockport, Manchester. This role is available on a 1-month Fixed Term Contract.

Role Purpose

As the Manufacturing Team Manager, you will make a positive impact and deliver results through others by overseeing their development and leading by example. Your role is to manage people, plant, product, and process delivery, focusing on site-critical metrics, team performance, and operational efficiency.

Working Pattern

The role involves a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, and off days.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership and Development: Direct, challenge, motivate, lead, and coach team members; conduct regular monitoring, feedback, and development initiatives.
  2. Operational Efficiency: Ensure production meets targets, manage Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), waste, downtime, packet weights, labor, and efficiency.
  3. System Utilization: Use systems like Autostore, Workday, SAP, SFOL, Absence Manager for management information.
  4. Communication and Customer Service: Facilitate effective communication and promote high customer satisfaction.
  5. Quality and Compliance: Follow Quality Management Systems, maintain hygiene standards, and resolve issues in staff, production, and equipment areas.
Experience and Skills
Essential
  • Validated leadership skills, high standards of behavior, honesty, and integrity.
  • Effective communicator with a track record in team leadership and efficiency improvements.
  • Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a Lean environment.
  • Ability to delegate, empower, influence, and motivate.
Desirable
  • Experience in bakery and savory snacks processing.
  • Self-development focus and adaptability.
  • Coaching and feedback skills to develop excellence.
Interview Process
  1. First stage: competency-based interview focusing on company values and experience.
  2. Second stage: technical interview, case study, or presentation.
