Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Manufacturing Operator Team Leader for the AM shift at our Wellingborough, UK facility. You will manage and lead production activities, ensuring targets are met by following SOPs and driving continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and safety.

The role requires hands-on leadership, data interpretation, and collaboration with colleagues across the manufacturing floor. Reporting to the Manufacture & Processing Manager, you will rotate across manufacturing areas,

Qualifications

• Availability to work 06:00–14:00, Monday to Friday.
• GCSE/A Level or NVQ2 (or 3 years leading manufacturing ops).
• Competent numeracy; able to read batch cards and data.
• Experience in manufacturing / process industry.
• Forklift truck license required.
• Excellent verbal communication and teamwork.
• Ability to develop or follow SOPs and risk assessments.

We have a vast and ever-evolving portfolio of brands primed to play an important part in everything from modernizing infrastructure around the world to enabling the next generation of electric and autonomous vehicles.We are currently looking for a **Manufacturing Operator Team Leader (AM shift)** to join us at our facility in **Wellingborough******,** UK.**To manage and be responsible for delivering production performance targets by following agreed operating procedures using continuous improvement methodologies and improve performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, HSE and team development.**Key responsibilities:*** Lead and operate mixing and associated equipment* Record, monitor and calculate performance v target in terms of HSE, Quality, adherence to plan, batch cycle time, staff and waste.* Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping* Lead daily briefings, MDI boards Tier 1, feeding into Tier 2* Actively participate and take a lead role in safety, quality and continuous improvement activities* Have a sound knowledge of systems and procedures and carry out all work in a safe manner, reporting any issues via the appropriate system, with the ability to develop or create standard operating procedures and undertake associated risk assessments where necessary.* Competent across all manufacturing in order that he/she can rotate regularly, recording performance, against targets, maintaining standards and raising issues with team members to resolve efficiently* Challenges personal performance and develops own skills and supports the team to consistently strive for improved results* Demonstrate a good understanding of the business and where the supply chain and manufacturing fits as part of the business strategy* Accepts the need for change and demonstrates a working knowledge and application of continuous improvement tools in daily work and is capable of actively leading in improvement teams.**Key requirements:*** Availability to work from 06:00am to 2:00pm, from Monday to Friday* GCSE/ A Level Qualification / NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) or 3 years experience in leading manufacturing operations* Ideally a qualification in maths and English – must be competent in numeracy to read and understand numbers, batch cards, interpret and manipulate data where required.* Competency in interpreting data in business systems and entering key performance data* Certified with forklift truck license* Experience in manufacturing / process industry* Excellent verbal communication and team work skills to work with colleagues to achieve individual and team targets* Desire to champion the company values* Logical problem solving skills and the ability to lead problem solving activity.**Reports to**: Manufacture & Processing Manager / Section ManagerAxalta operates its business in two segments: Performance Coatings and Mobility Coatings, which serve four end markets, including Refinish, Industrial, Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle, across North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
