Manufacturing/Repair Engineer - Implementation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer - External Supply Chain to join the Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Organisation, based in Derby. This role is part of our initiative to expand our repair team and enhance repair capabilities, increasing the number of repaired parts in our products.

Our product portfolio powers over 35 types of commercial aircraft, with more than 13,000 engines in service globally, ensuring the world keeps flying. The MRO business operates worldwide, offering opportunities to work across our global MRO bases to develop new repair capabilities, drive continuous improvement, and provide operational support.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Owning the technical/engineering relationship for specific repair supplier(s).
  2. Managing supplier relationships and collaborating to implement repair capabilities and improvements.
  3. Providing technical guidance to ensure quality in repair industrialisation, including support through the First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) process.
  4. Championing zero defects and process improvements.
  5. Representing manufacturing engineering in sourcing decisions.
  6. Performing root cause analysis and problem solving when issues arise.

Key experience and qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Proficiency with digital tools: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio; PowerBI is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse teams and levels.
  • Ability to plan and lead projects.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of FAIR process, AS9102, AS13100, RM13003; experience with Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), data analysis, and programming.

Additional requirements include international travel and a Part 145 appreciation.
