Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer to join the Derbyshire manufacturing site, delivering CAPEX and plant improvement projects from concept through to handover. You will manage budgets, supplier quotations, contractor oversight and ensure safety and quality throughout installation and commissioning.

Candidates must have 5+ years in manufacturing environments, experience with capital investments, and solid AutoCAD and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification with 5+ year’s experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience delivering capital investment projects from concept to handover.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and equipment manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple CAPEX and engineering projects through to completion with budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate supplier quotations, contractors, installation and commissioning.
• Deliver projects that improve plant reliability, safety and efficiency with CAD drawings.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Role Function

Are you a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking manufacturing projects from idea through to installation and commissioning? We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Projects Team at the Derbyshire manufacturing site, delivering a range of CAPEX, plant improvement and manufacturing engineering projects. Projects can range from around £10k to £500k, with larger investments of £1m+ planned for the future. You will have responsibility for taking projects from concept and business case through procurement, contractor management, installation, commissioning and handover.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Candidate Requirements

Important – candidates must have ‘Permanent UK Right to Work’

• * Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification with 5+ year’s experience in a manufacturing, process or automated production environment.
• * Proven experience delivering capital investment projects from concept to hand over; ideally involving plant, machinery or site infrastructure.
• * Experience managing contractors, suppliers and equipment manufacturers, from quotation through to installation and commissioning.
• * Good understanding of Health & Safety, with experience using or creating AutoCAD drawings and competent Microsoft Office skills.
• * A proactive, organised engineer with strong communication, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

• * Manage multiple CAPEX and engineering projects from concept through to completion, including budgets, schedules and business cases.
• * Obtain and evaluate supplier/contractor quotations, manage contractors and ensure projects are delivered safely.
• * Control project costs, monitor progress and provide regular updates to key stakeholders.
• * Coordinate installation, commissioning and handover of new equipment and plant.
• * Deliver projects that improve plant reliability, safety, manufacturing capacity and efficiency, including developing and using AutoCAD drawings.
