Job summary

Probe UK Limited in Derbyshire is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead CAPEX and plant-improvement projects from concept through installation and handover at our Derbyshire manufacturing site.

You will manage budgets, schedules and business cases, evaluate supplier quotations, coordinate contractors and ensure safe, compliant delivery. You will develop and use AutoCAD drawings to improve reliability, safety, capacity and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification with 5+ years in manufacturing, process or automated production.
• Experience delivering engineering or capital investment projects.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience creating AutoCAD drawings and proficient MS Office skills.
• Proactive, organized engineer with strong communication and continuous improvement skills.

Responsibilities

Are you a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking manufacturing projects from idea through to installation and commissioning? We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Projects Team at the Derbyshire manufacturing site, delivering a range of CAPEX, plant improvement and manufacturing engineering projects. Projects can range from around £10k to £500k, with larger investments of £1m+ planned for the future. You will have responsibility for taking projects from concept and business case through procurement, contractor management, installation, commissioning and handover.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Candidate Requirements

• Manage multiple CAPEX and engineering projects from concept through to completion, including budgets, schedules and business cases.

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineeringqualification with 5+ years experience in a manufacturing, process or automated production environment.
• Proven experience delivering engineering or capital investment projects, ideally involving plant, machinery or site infrastructure.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and equipment manufacturers, from quotation through to installation and commissioning.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety, with experience using or creating AutoCAD drawings and competent Microsoft Office skills.
• A proactive, organised engineer with strong communication, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
