Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property is seeking two Manufacturing Operator II for a 12-month replacement contract in Warrington. The role runs 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday in a clean-room manufacturing environment.

You will work hands-on in ISO 7 conditions, assembling and testing cartridge product lines, following SOPs, and supporting continuous improvement under supervision, with training provided and on-boarding as described.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or clean room production experience.
  • Hazardous materials experience and COSHH awareness.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to perform physical tasks safely.
  • GDP documentation and SOP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multi-stage, semi-automated assembly on production lines in a clean room.
  • Operate sealing machines and conduct visual inspections.
  • Support QC testing and document results in GDP-compliant records.
  • Train and support new team members toward competency.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and assist with audits.

Manufacturing Operator II

Location: Warrington (7 Kingsland Grange)

Position Type: Full-time, 12-Month Contract (Replacement Cover)

Positions Available: 2

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday - Friday

Days: Mon-Thu 07:15-16:00 | Fri 07:15-11:45

Pay Rate: £14.01/hr (Equivalent to £27,325.00/year)

Overtime: Available

About the Role

We are looking for hands-on, quality-driven Manufacturing Operators to join a world-class manufacturing operation in Warrington.

In this role, you will work collaboratively within a dynamic team in an ISO 7 clean room environment. You will lead by example, supporting the assembly and manufacturing of specialised cartridge product lines (including gel, primary, and ladder cartridges) working with DNA reagents in accordance with strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean room Assembly & Equipment Operation: Perform multi-stage, semi-automated assembly on production lines wearing full Tyvek gowning and personal hood PPE. Operate Cartridge Sealing Machines (CSM) and carry out thorough visual inspections.
  • Quality & Compliance: Follow Good Documentation Practice (GDP), submit regular samples for Quality Control (QC) testing, and perform basic QC testing on intermediates and finished goods as required.
  • Mentor-ship & Training: Train and support new team members, guiding them toward confident, unsupervised competency.
  • Equipment & Calibration: Monitor and maintain calibration schedules for laboratory instruments to ensure timely calibration by designated equipment teams.
  • Maintenance & Clean room Maintenance: Liaise with Engineering to resolve machine breakdowns promptly and minimise production downtime. Participate in regular particle reduction cleans and clean room environmental monitoring (e.g., swab preparation and taking).
  • Continuous Improvement: Manage Problem Reports (PRs) and Change Orders using PLM/Quality Management software to support continuous improvement projects, update documentation, and assist with root-cause investigations.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Essential Experience & Knowledge:
    • Proven experience working within a manufacturing or clean room production environment.
    • Hands-on experience with hazardous materials and solid awareness of COSHH guidelines.
    • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to handle physical/manual tasks safely.
  • Core Skills & Attributes:
    • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow written and verbal SOP instructions carefully and complete documentation to GDP standards.
    • Teamwork & Independence: Strong collaborative skills alongside the ability to manage your own workload independently under the supervisor's guidance.
    • Organisation & Time Management: Ability to handle tight deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and perform efficiently under pressure.
    • Communication & Tech Literacy: Clear communication skills and comfortable operating standard computer terminals/office systems daily.
    • Adaptability: A flexible mindset with a willingness to learn new duties, adapt at short notice, or work overtime when needed.
    • Interest in Science/Engineering: A demonstrated interest or background in scientific, mechanical, or engineering processes is strongly preferred.
Working Environment & On-boarding

PPE & On-boarding: Full training, protective equipment (PPE), and Tyvek gowning will be provided.

Selection Process: Stage 1 on-site interview with the Hiring Manager.
