Job Description:

Manufacturing / Production Operative (Magnesium) - NDT Level 2 (Billets/Extrusion) Luxfer MEL Technologies is a global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of Magnesium and Zirconium based products and services to technology industries worldwide.

We have approximately 300 employees across the UK & US.

As a Manufacturing Operative you will support the 24/7 operation in the Magnesium department, working on ultrasonic testing of our products, following manufacturing procedures as safely and efficiently as possible to fulfil production plans.

This will involve:

1. Operating process equipment and machinery, including ultrasonic testing equipment
2. Monitoring processes and recording parameters for production records, log sheets and SAP transactions
3. Communicating status to other operators and departments
4. Performing in house tests/analysis to ensure product is produced in line with specifications
5. Packing of finished goods into drums, bags, onto pallets or other forms of container for transportation
6. Aiding in the investigation and identifying the root cause of out of spec product and or production issues

What you’ll need to be considered for this Ultrasonic Testing NDT Operative / Manufacturing Operative role:

1. 5x GCSE’s (Incl. Eng, Maths) – A-C Achieved as a minimum
2. Level 2 Ultrasonics, although Level 3 would be a distinct advantage
3. Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment, including experience with ultrasonic testing
4. Safety conscious and have a high level of attention to detail
5. Professional approach to work and a team player
6. Must have experience on manual lathes or saws - Preferably qualified machinist
7. FLT licence
8. Must have a valid forklift truck licence.
9. A Pendant crane qualification would also be advantageous.
