Pertemps Northampton in Corby is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Operative for a full-time role in a fast-paced production environment. You will fabricate and assemble multi-material frames, ensuring high standards and compliance with PAS 24 and Secured by Design criteria.

The position demands meticulous quality control and timely completion of tasks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with PVC-U, Aluminium, and timber-alternative products, and a proven track record of working

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in manufacturing or engineering production.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use fabrication saws, welders, routers and hand tools.
• Experience with premium or timber-alternative frames is an advantage.
• Attention to detail in assembly and hardware installation.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, weld, assemble and hang a diverse range of products (PVC-U, Aluminium, Flush Sash, Bi-folds, timber alternatives).
• Install hardware, gaskets and glazing units per drawings and specs.
• Conduct self-inspection for aesthetics, tolerance and function before handover to logistics.
• Maintain production discipline with punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Operate heavy machinery safely in line with UK health and safety regulations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and deeply conscientious Glazing & Fabrication Specialist to join a fast-paced, quality-driven production environment. This is not an entry-level role; the successful candidate must possess a proven, verifiable track record in commercial window/door fabrication and a mature, self-motivated approach to workplace attendance and quality control.You will be tasked with assembling high-specification, multi-material frames, ensuring every product meets strict PAS 24 and Secured by Design energy and security criteria before distribution to a national network of trade installers.

Key Responsibilities

• Precision Assembly:Fabricate, weld, assemble, and hang a diverse portfolio of products, including PVC-U, Aluminium, Flush Sash, Bi-folds, and high-end timber alternatives using advanced technical machinery (e.g., Timberweld processes).
• Glazing & Fitting:Correctly install hardware, gaskets, beads, and complex glazing units into frames according to exact architectural drawings and trade order specifications.
• Quality Assurance:Conduct rigorous self-inspection of finished frames to ensure flawless aesthetics, structural tolerance, and mechanical functionality before passing to logistics.
• Operational Dependability:Adhere strictly to production schedules, demonstrating consistent punctuality, minimal absenteeism, and a mature work ethic that supports team output.
• Health & Safety:Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workstation, operating heavy machinery and tools strictly in line with UK health and safety regulations.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience:Minimum of 1 years in manufacturing or engineering production
• Reliability Profile:A proven history of high reliability and consistent workplace attendance. You must possess a strong sense of personal accountability and a mature attitude toward production deadlines.
• Technical Skillset:Strong proficiency in reading technical drawings, operating fabrication saws, welders, routers, and hand tools. Experience handling premium or complex composite/timber-alternative brands is a major advantage.
• Attention to Detail:A meticulous eye for structural alignments, clean corner welds, and flawless hardware installation.
