Equals One Ltd is seeking an experienced Aluminium Production Manager to lead the fabrication operation at a new site in South Yorkshire. You will own the factory floor, establish standards from day one and develop a skilled team of fabricators to deliver quality products safely and on time.

You will oversee production planning, quality control, safety and continuous improvement, working closely with supervisors and team leaders to create a productive, engaged team on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in aluminium window and door fabrication.
• Hands-on leadership on a factory floor.
• Strong track record in delivering targets safely and on time.
• Experience planning labour, materials and machines.
• Knowledge of quality-control processes and 5S principles.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage day-to-day production for aluminium windows and doors.
• Lead, train and develop fabricators, team leaders and supervisors.
• Ensure training and competency sign-off against SOPs.
• Plan labour, materials, machinery and workflow to meet targets and delivery.
• Monitor output, quality, labour efficiency and plan adherence.
• Establish KPIs and use data to drive improvements.
• Maintain safety, PPE compliance and machine-check procedures.
• Investigate issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Embed standard working practices and continuous-improvement activities.
• Support introduction of new products and processes as the site grows.

About the Company

Our client is a successful, growing UK group in the fenestration industry operating across multiple sites. They are looking for an experienced, hands-on Aluminium Production Manager to help build, lead and develop the operation from the ground up.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven production leader with strong practical knowledge of aluminium window and door fabrication. You will take ownership of the factory floor, establish high standards from day one, develop a skilled team of fabricators, and ensure products are manufactured safely, accurately and on time.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the aluminium fabrication operation, including people, production planning, quality, safety and continuous improvement.

You will lead by example, working closely with supervisors, team leaders and fabricators to create a productive, engaged and quality-focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and manage the day-to-day production operation for aluminium windows, doors and associated products.
• Lead, train, coach and develop a team of aluminium fabricators, team leaders and supervisors.
• Ensure all team members are trained, competent and signed off against agreed standard operating procedures.
• Plan labour, materials, machinery and workflow to achieve production targets and customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor daily output, work in progress, quality performance, labour efficiency and delivery against plan.
• Establish clear production KPIs and use data to drive actions and improvements.
• Ensure products are manufactured right first time and meet required quality, specification and customer standards.
• Implement and maintain robust quality-control checks throughout the fabrication process.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised factory, ensuring full compliance with health and safety, PPE and machine-check requirements.
• Investigate production, quality and delivery issues, identifying root causes and implementing lasting solutions.
• Develop and embed standard working practices, 5S and continuous-improvement activities.
• Support the introduction of new products, processes, equipment and production lines as the new site grows.

What We're Looking For

You will be an experienced production manager or senior supervisor from an aluminium window and door fabrication environment. You will understand the realities of running a busy factory and be comfortable balancing output, quality, safety and people development.

You will have:

• Proven experience in aluminium window and door fabrication.
• Practical knowledge of aluminium machining, cutting, assembly, glazing and quality-control processes.
• Experience leading, training and developing a team of fabricators.
• A strong track record of managing production targets, workflow and delivery performance.
• Excellent people-management skills, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to gain respect on the factory floor.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to resolving issues quickly.
• A clear understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
• Confidence using production data and reporting to make informed decisions.
• A proactive, resilient and positive approach, with the ability to lead change in a new and growing operation.
