Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead our growing engineering and manufacturing operations. You will drive performance, develop people and processes, and ensure production activities meet customer, quality and commercial requirements.

The role demands strong leadership, extensive experience in manufacturing management, and a track record of delivering continuous improvement, productivity gains and cost efficiency across multiple functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience within Engineering or Manufacturing Management.
• Experience managing multiple manufacturing functions within a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.
• Demonstrable experience of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning and resource management.
• Experience managing production performance against KPIs and business objectives.
• Good understanding of quality, health and safety and regulatory requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with MS Office and ERP/business management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and work effectively to deadlines.
• Commercially aware with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and strategic direction across multiple manufacturing and production functions.
• Take overall responsibility for manufacturing performance, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Lead, develop and support departmental management teams to achieve business and production objectives.
• Effectively manage labour, equipment and other resources to maximise production output.
• Oversee production planning and ensure products are manufactured and delivered in line with customer requirements and agreed deadlines.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality and cost.
• Monitor key production metrics and use operational data to identify and implement improvements.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality, environmental, health and safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support the introduction of new products, processes, equipment and tooling into production.
• Work closely with engineering and commercial teams to ensure new and existing products can be manufactured effectively.
• Lead and support operational improvement and capital investment projects where required.
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high performance across the manufacturing function.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders to ensure manufacturing requirements are understood and delivered.
• Work collaboratively with quality, engineering, production planning, sales and other business functions to support operational objectives.
• Ensure departmental targets and KPIs are understood, monitored and achieved.
