Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment client in Margate, Kent is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and improvement of production equipment and facilities. The role combines mechanical maintenance, basic electrical work, machining and general engineering support within a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• You'll have previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment and enjoy solving practical engineering problems.
• Previous maintenance engineering or technician experience.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge.
• Experience using workshop machinery and hand tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach.
• Understanding of Health & Safety within manufacturing.
• GCSE Maths and Science (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
• Supporting the Production Engineering Manager with day-to-day engineering activities.
• Identifying equipment faults and highlighting maintenance issues.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Completing basic electrical tasks including lighting, equipment isolation and accessory replacement.
• Using a wide range of hand and power tools safely.
• Troubleshooting production equipment.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
• Following Health & Safety procedures and ensuring PPE is worn at all times.
