Job Description

Manufacturing Line Technician who is familiar with working on production lines and in FMCG / Food manufacturing environments with knowledge of stock control processes is required for a well-established company based in Trafford, Manchester, North West England.

SALARY: £35,641 per annum (Basic Pay £30,107 + £5,533 shift premium per annum) + Benefits

LOCATION: Trafford, Manchester, North West England (M17) - 100% Site Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Rotating Shift Pattern - 2 weeks on Day Shifts and then 2 weeks on Night Shifts

AM Day Shift 06:00 - 18:00

PM Night Shift 18:00 - 06:00

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Manufacturing Line Technician who is familiar with working on production lines and in FMCG / Food manufacturing environments with knowledge of stock control processes.

Working as the Manufacturing Line Technician, you will be responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient running of the production lines, including managing raw materials to finished goods.

You will work with colleagues and managers to meet the requirements of the production plan while maintaining health, safety, quality, and food safety standards.

This is a highly skilled role with accountability for all aspects of the line.

DUTIES
  • Be proactive towards health and safety, work within defined Safe Systems of Work, contribute to safety improvements, demonstrate correct safety behaviors, and report near misses and unsafe acts.
  • Carry out pre-start checks on the line as per the start-up check sheet, complete relevant documentation, and finish checks.
  • Ensure all downtime is logged accurately and communicated.
  • Complete all Quality Assurance and Health and Safety checks at the start of production and at designated intervals, including all CCPs.
  • Maintain hygiene standards by completing hygiene tasks as scheduled and keeping the line clean and tidy daily.
  • Proactively report pest control issues.
  • Manage process and quality parameters.
  • Identify weekly maintenance needs and communicate with the Production and Engineering teams.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities, seek new opportunities, and participate actively.
  • Ensure the line is supplied with appropriate materials at all times.
  • Accurately complete SIC boards.
  • Minimize downtime due to changeovers to meet shift production targets.
  • Reduce wastage while ensuring weights and measures compliance.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of stock control processes, ideally with WMS systems.
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge (desirable).
  • Manual Handling experience (desirable).
  • GCSE standard Maths & English competency.
  • H&S qualification (desirable).
