Job summary

Zachary Daniels Finance is recruiting a Financial Controller for a manufacturing business in the Falkirk area. The role reports to the Finance Director and leads the finance team to deliver accurate reporting, strong controls and meaningful financial insights that drive business decisions.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with proven manufacturing experience and a hands-on leadership style, happy to engage with operational teams and influence cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong background in manufacturing.
• Established Financial Controller or Finance Manager ready to take the next step in your career.
• Strong manufacturing experience, costing, stock and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support an established finance team, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Take ownership of monthly management accounts, financial reporting, balance sheet integrity and internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, providing clear insight into business performance.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, inventory, production variances and product profitability.
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to understand performance, challenge costs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support effective cash management, working capital control and financial governance.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting in line with group requirements and relevant accounting standards.
• Partner with the Finance Director on financial improvements, business initiatives and longer-term planning.
