Job summary

Belcan is seeking an experienced Expeditor on a contract basis to join an aerospace manufacturing programme in Gloucester. You will own critical parts from release to shipment, track progression, and drive recovery plans to ensure on-time delivery.

You will collaborate with Schedulers, Production Leaders, Quality Technicians, Logistics, and Operators to remove bottlenecks, escalate issues, and continuously improve lead times and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in production control, scheduling, expediting, or shop-floor coordination.
• Aerospace sector experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and escalation experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, delivery-focused setting.
• Knowledge of SAP, MES systems, and production flow principles.
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a portfolio of critical parts and recovery-plan orders from release through to shipment.
• Track and monitor critical parts through every stage of the manufacturing process.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, waiting time, and non-value-added delays between operations.
• Ensure all critical parts have a defined next action, owner, and recovery plan at all times.
• Work closely with Schedulers, Production Team Leaders, Quality Technicians, Logistics teams, and Operators to maintain flow and remove obstacles.
• Lead daily critical-part reviews and communicate priorities across operational teams.
• Escalate and drive resolution of issues including material shortages, quality concerns, machine downtime, and resource constraints.
• Monitor adherence to recovery plans and challenge priorities where necessary to protect delivery commitments.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing manufacturing lead times and improving operational performance.

Exciting Opportunity with a Leading Aerospace Client

We are recruiting for an experienced Expeditor on a contact basis to join a leading aerospace manufacturing programme. Working within the Scheduling team and reporting to the Scheduling Manager, the Expeditor will take ownership of critical parts and recovery-plan orders, ensuring they progress efficiently through production and are delivered on time.

About You

• Experience in production control, manufacturing operations, scheduling, planning, expediting, or shop-floor coordination.
• Previous experience within the aerospace sector would be highly desirable, although candidates from other complex manufacturing environments will also be considered.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple teams.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and experience managing escalations in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, delivery-focused setting.
• Knowledge of SAP, MES systems, and production flow principles.
• Highly organised, proactive, and results-driven with excellent attention to detail.
