Gap Personnel Limited in Plymouth is seeking a Manufacturing Estimator / Account Manager who can translate drawings and specifications into accurate, competitive proposals. You will review materials, labour and manufacturing processes to build viable quotations.

You’ll become a trusted contact for customers, responding to RFQs and enquiries, and identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts while ensuring feasibility with engineering and production teams.

We're recruiting for a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Plymouth, looking for a Manufacturing Estimator / Account Manager who can combine technical knowledge, accurate costing and great customer relationships.

If you enjoy understanding how things are made, finding practical solutions and working directly with customers, this is an opportunity to put those strengths to work in a varied, commercially focused role.

The opportunity

You'll support customers from their initial enquiry through to quotation, translating drawings and specifications into accurate, competitive proposals.

That means getting into the detail of materials, labour and manufacturing processes, while working closely with engineering and production colleagues to ensure the proposed solution can be delivered.

Alongside estimating, you'll become a trusted point of contact for customers, understanding their requirements, resolving queries and identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts.

What you'll be doing

What you'll bring

You'll have experience in manufacturing estimating within an engineering environment, with a practical understanding of fabrication, machining or mechanical engineering processes.

You'll be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings and explaining technical information clearly to customers and colleagues. Just as importantly, you'll understand how manufacturing costs are built and take pride in producing accurate, well-considered quotations.
