Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting an experienced Head of Engineering to lead engineering on a large manufacturing site in Trowbridge. This senior, hands-on role shapes the engineering direction while building capability, reliability and a culture of continuous improvement essential for long-term performance.

You will guide strategic engineering and asset management, drive improvements, and influence across functions as part of the Senior Management Team.

Qualifications

• Significant engineering leadership experience in a manufacturing or similar complex operation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent continuous-improvement approaches.
• Experience with reliability, maintenance and capital project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Set and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned with priorities and investment plans.
• Lead engineering, maintenance and reliability activities to ensure safe, reliable production.
• Develop and embed continuous improvement across engineering and operations using Lean, Six Sigma and other methods.
• Use data and problem-solving to identify opportunities and drive sustainable results.
• Lead capital projects, asset care and lifecycle planning with managed scope and risks.
• Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, finance and HSE colleagues.
• Develop engineering capability through coaching and succession planning.
• Promote high safety and environmental standards and engineering governance.
• Contribute to site-wide and business-level decisions as part of the Senior Management Team.
