Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical) to support a UK manufacturing operation in Yeovil. The role focuses on defining processes, BOMs, routings and work instructions to maintain efficient production.

You will work on shop floor engineering support, assist production planning and implement process improvements. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background and experience with manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background required.
• Experience in manufacturing or production engineering.
• Understanding of machining techniques and processes.
• Experience with SAP, CATIA or 2D drawing packages advantageous.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting shop floor and production planning.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain manufacturing BOMs, routings and process documentation.
• Produce and update work instructions, drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing teams on the shop floor.
• Support production planning, scheduling and capacity requirements.
• Implement engineering and process changes within existing production activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce quality issues.
• Raise and manage SAP production orders for manufacture and rework.
• Identify tooling, fixtures and gauges required for production.

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our client’s manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical engineering background and an understanding of manufacturing processes, machining techniques and production planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and process documentation.
