Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations. The role focuses on creating BOMs, routings, and process documentation, along with shop-floor engineering support and collaboration with production planning.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background with experience in manufacturing processes and the ability to interpret drawings. SAP or CATIA experience is advantageous for this hands-on engineering position.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background required.
• Experience in manufacturing/production engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
• Familiarity with SAP, CATIA or 2D drawing packages is a plus.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our client’s manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical engineering background and an understanding of manufacturing processes, machining techniques and production planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and process documentation.
• Produce and update work instructions, drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing teams on the shop floor.
• Support production planning, scheduling and capacity requirements.
• Implement engineering and process changes within existing production activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce quality issues.
• Raise and manage SAP production orders for manufacture and rework.
• Identify tooling, fixtures and gauges required for production.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Mechanical engineering background is essential.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
• Understanding of machining techniques and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with SAP, CATIA or 2D drawing packages would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting shop floor teams and production planning.
• Good organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.

Pay Rate: £22.96 per hour PAYE

Contract: Temporary
