Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract role in Yeovil. The position involves supporting manufacturing and assembly of components through documentation, processes and continuous improvement, on a hybrid onsite with some WFH days.

The role requires experience in defence/ security manufacturing environments, strong knowledge of BOMs/routings and SAP Production Orders, and the ability to develop work instructions and process sketches.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing engineering within a complex engineering, defence or security environment.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Understanding of Bills of Materials, routings and process documentation.
• Experience creating and amending Work Instructions, stage drawings and process sketches.
• Working knowledge of SAP Production Orders and manufacturing information systems.
• Ability to estimate production times to support capacity planning and cost estimation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and non-conformance reduction.
• Clear communication skills to represent Manufacturing Engineering on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) defining materials and parts for components and assemblies.
• Develop manufacturing routings, process sketches, stage drawings and supporting process documentation.
• Produce and maintain Work Instructions to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Process design changes and introduce them into work-in-progress and assembly processes.
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing methods, build processes and build logic.
• Compile SAP Production Orders for manufacture or rework of components.
• Identify and request tooling, fixtures and gauges for manufacturing and assembly activities.
• Provide shop-floor support, monitor progress, report issues and contribute to non-conformance reduction activities.

3 months initial contract (extension likely)

£31.06 per hour Umbrella

Our client, a leading organisation within the defence and Aerospace sector, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role will support the manufacture and assembly of components through the development of manufacturing documentation, production processes and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) defining the materials and parts required for components and assemblies
• Develop manufacturing routings, process sketches, stage drawings and supporting process documentation
