Job summary

Brompton Bicycle Limited in Greenford, London, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead improvements on the factory floor. You will apply lean techniques, drive efficiency, and collaborate with production, quality and design teams to raise Right First Time and reduce waste.

The role requires hands-on engineering, project management, and clear communication to keep projects on time and within safety standards. A degree in engineering and several years of manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven demonstrable experience in process/industrial/continuous improvement engineering.
• Technical knowledge of LEAN principles and manufacturing theories.
• Problem solving using RCA, DMAIC or similar techniques.
• Hands-on practical approach with tools and machinery.
• Ability to balance short-term firefighting with long-term improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects to improve manufacturing efficiency, capacity, and product quality.
• Define and improve process capabilities and implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste.
• Collaborate with operations to plan equipment, layouts, and logistics flow.
• Develop strong relationships between production, quality, NPI, design and customer service.
• Assist with planning, purchasing and implementation of new equipment and technologies.
