Amentum is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Independent Nuclear Assurance (INA) team for the MoD's Nuclear Submarine Build Programme. The role focuses on witnessing and auditing NRP manufacturing, testing, and processes on supplier sites in Derby, with travel to Birchwood and Bristol as needed.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on manufacturing expertise, BPVC aware auditing, and strong communication to deliver independent, balanced assessments while supporting safety,

Formación

• Engineering degree/HND or apprenticeship with hands-on experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with manufacturing process audits, ideally BPVC.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy and high-reliability components.
• Ability to develop and implement Technical Specifications.
• Experience in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S).
• Knowledge of materials properties and inspection/testing techniques.
• Excellent communication with customers and contractors.
• Security clearance in the UK or ability to obtain one.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct on-site Independent Third-Party Witnessing of NRP manufacturing processes and tests.
• Provide impartial, balanced advice to MoD in support of future NRPs.
• Represent INA in meetings with MoD and contractors.
• Prepare reports to articulate findings.
