Qualifications

  • Proactive, technically proficient and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor robotic welding cells to meet production targets.

About The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer HLA is a critical member of our manufacturing team, responsible for the setup and operation of robotic welding equipment.

The Manufacturing Engineer HLA is a critical member of our manufacturing team, responsible for the setup and operation of robotic welding equipment.


The primary function is to produce high-quality, precise steel lintel components while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and a proactive problem-solver.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • System Operation: Operate and monitor robotic welding cells to produce welded steel lintels according to engineering drawings and production targets.

  • Setup and Fixturing: Assemble and secure components into jigs or fixtures, and load materials into the robotic welding machine whilst maintaining machine operation.

  • Programming: Perform minor programming adjustments and program welding parameters (such as path, speed, voltage, and wire feed) to optimize performance and ensure quality.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of completed welds using precision measuring tools to ensure all work meets stringent quality specifications and standards.

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance on robotic equipment and troubleshoot technical issues to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.

  • Safety Compliance: Uphold all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

  • Collaboration: Work effectively with team leaders, engineers, and other production staff to improve welding processes, address production issues, and enhance overall efficiency.

  • Documentation: Accurately record production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities.


What You’ll Need To Succeed


  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within a manufacturing environment.

  • Capable of moderate physical effort, including lifting up to 25kg.

  • Manual dexterity and mobility to navigate the production floor

  • Currently undertaking a Higher Level Apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering or a similar discipline.

  • Hours of work 1.30pm - 11.45pm 4 days per week, with one day at college.
