Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Design and Planning

Working Pattern: Full time

Location: Bristol

Rolls-Royce is developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for composite fan systems. We are experiencing growth as we deliver composite components and manufacturing programs across Civil Aerospace and Defence divisions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to work within the Composite Technology Facility (CTF) as part of our Engineering, Test and Safety business. Responsibilities include developing manufacturing drawings and procedures for composite components. The role is based in CTF Bristol at the Filton site, with visits to offsite facilities, working closely with teams including Rolls-Royce Derby, external suppliers, and the National Composites Centre (NCC).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop manufacturing drawings and instructions for various processes of the latest fan systems.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements.
  • Develop technical packages using digital tools, including CAPP, MES, and data systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and share best practices.
  • Simplify the use of digital tools to enhance manufacturing operations.

Candidate Profile:

We seek candidates who embody safety, integrity, simplicity, and impact. To succeed, you should have:

  • An Engineering or relevant qualification, HND or HNC with manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter environment.
  • Knowledge of Siemens MES and digital manufacturing tools.
  • Understanding of manufacturing engineering processes aiming for zero defects.
  • Familiarity with RR design methods and model-based definitions.
