Manufacturing Engineer - Capability Acquisition (Full Time, Derby)

Why Rolls-Royce? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer - Capability Acquisition to join the Regen Programme within Submarines.

The Role

This role offers a chance to join the Regen Programme at a critical point. You will define requirements for new technology acquisitions, liaise with the supply chain, and lay the foundations for process development. Your engineering activities will deliver new technology and capabilities to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time (SQCD) requirements. You will interface across multiple teams to ensure technology solutions align with existing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. HSE: Ensure manufacturing processes comply with regulatory requirements, health, safety, and environmental standards, and support the Zero Harm programme.
  2. Product Safety: Ensure manufacturing processes achieve and sustain design intent, following processes to conform to specifications and investigating safety issues.
  3. Quality: Promote a culture of zero defects, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with policies and standards such as RRMS, SABRe, Export Control, and IP.
  4. Requirements & Capability Development: Identify opportunities for process and digital system improvements, develop, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, and use data to demonstrate capability enhancements.
  5. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work with teams and experts to understand manufacturing processes, share lessons learned, and participate in Communities of Practice.
  6. External Relationships: Build beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers to support their objectives.
Candidate Profile

We seek professionals who embody Rolls-Royce's values of agility, boldness, collaboration, and simplicity. To succeed, you should have:

  • Professional qualification as an engineer (e.g., UK HND/foundation degree or equivalent)
  • Recognised engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes relevant to the role

The professional level and salary depend on experience and skills.
