Job summary

An exciting Manufacturing Engineer role in Stevenage within a defence engineering organisation. You’ll help improve manufacturing processes, support production operations, and drive continuous improvement across existing and new product programmes.

Collaborating with engineering and production teams, you’ll ensure safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing, with opportunities to work on complex, innovative products in a technically challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship with HNC/HND or a degree in engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations across existing production lines and new product introductions.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, build instructions, and production bills of materials.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing issues to support delivery objectives.
• Contribute to industrial validation activities, including process proving and risk assessments.
• Manage the implementation of engineering changes and configuration updates within manufacturing.
• Support non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Work closely with design teams to ensure products are optimised for manufacture.
• Assist with tooling development, process improvements, and future manufacturing initiatives.
