Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking a Production Engineer with experience in composite manufacturing to support aerospace component production. You will improve manufacturing processes, create work instructions, support repairs and rework, and troubleshoot production issues while collaborating with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.

You will help drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods, review BOMs and ERP routings, and ensure health and safety

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years' experience within composite manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience working within an aerospace or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of composite manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions for composite processes.
  • Create rework and repair instructions for composite components.
  • Investigate production issues and carry out root cause analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods.
  • Support quality improvements and corrective actions.
  • Create and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings using an ERP system.
  • Train production technicians on composite manufacturing methods and safe working practices.
  • Support design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Production Engineer
The Role

We are looking for a Production Engineer with experience in composite manufacturing to support the production of aerospace components. You will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, creating work instructions, supporting repairs and rework, troubleshooting production issues and working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions for composite processes
  • Create rework and repair instructions for composite components.
  • Investigate production issues and carry out root cause analysis.

  • Support health and safety requirements relating to composites, resins, solvents, dust and curing processes.

  • Support design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Working Environment

The role will involve working between an engineering/office environment and the manufacturing floor. You may be required to stand, walk, bend and work around composite materials, resins, adhesives, solvents, dust, fumes, noise and curing equipment. Appropriate PPE will be provided where required.
