Job summary

Omega Resource Group in Gloucestershire is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Composites) to join a leading aerospace and advanced manufacturing business. The role focuses on developing composite aerospace components and improving manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

You will create routings, BoM's, process sheets and PFMEAs, collaborate with design, tooling, procurement and BD, and play a key role in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience of composite manufacture and processing
• Strong understanding of composite materials - carbon fiber preferred
• Understanding quality control within aerospace
• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferable)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Support product design for manufacture as required
• Create Routings and BoM's

• Develop and implement quality control procedures and have an Inspection plan is in place
• Working with the Tooling Design team create the Tooling Concepts / Requirements
• Develop PFMEAs to identify and mitigate risks

• Support BD with quotations (methodology and costings)

THE ROLE - Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business as a Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components of a composite nature.

As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you'll need to possess both understanding of composites materials and their properties and also have a strong manufacturing background including process and quality improvements.

You'll need to be able to demonstrate key experience composite materials, with experience in carbon composites being highly desirable.

DUTIES - Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)

• Support product design for manufacture as required.
• Create Routings and BoM's.
• Develop Process Sheets as required for Standard Procedures.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and have an Inspection plan is in place.
