Job summary

Contract Personnel Limited is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to join our client’s team in Norwich. You will help develop efficient manufacturing processes, support new product introductions and implement improvements that boost quality, reduce costs and increase productivity.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing to standardise SOPs, run Lean initiatives and investigate issues through PFMEA and root cause analysis, ensuring changes are smoothly

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with BOMs, ERP and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain SOPs for manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
  • Investigate production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Support engineering changes and ensure successful production introduction.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in PFMEA activities and root cause investigations.
  • Assist with quality and compliance initiatives including ISO standards.

Job description

Our client is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to join their team, playing a key role in improving manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement and supporting the production of innovative automated machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, process optimisation and working collaboratively across Engineering, Production and Quality to deliver operational excellence.

This role is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing efficient manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions and implementing improvements that enhance quality, reduce costs and increase productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Investigating production issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Supporting engineering changes and ensuring they are successfully introduced into production.
  • Managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting accurate manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Participating in PFMEA activities and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Assisting with quality and compliance initiatives, including ISO standards.
About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working with BOMs, ERP systems or manufacturing documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
