Job summary

Optimum TA Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help shape the future of production operations. You will develop PFMEAs, control plans and standard work while driving lean improvements and data-led decisions on the factory floor.

You will analyse OEE, downtime and cycle times, support shop floor data capture, traceability, dashboards and digital production records, and introduce new processes, tooling and fixtures to embed sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in manufacturing/production engineering.
• Strong PFMEA, Control Plans, and work instructions knowledge.
• Experience using data to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing and structured problem solving.

Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 | Friday 08:00 to 15:30

We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help shape the future of manufacturing within a growing engineering business. As well as improving processes, you'll play a key role in developing better shop floor data capture, traceability, digital manufacturing records and production visibility to support smarter, more efficient manufacturing.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, process instructions and standard work.
• Improve manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing and structured problem solving.
• Analyse manufacturing KPIs including OEE, downtime, scrap and cycle times.
• Support improvements in shop floor data capture, traceability, manufacturing dashboards and digital production records.
• Introduce new processes, tooling, jigs and fixtures.
• Work closely with production teams to embed sustainable process improvements.

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Manufacturing, Process or Production Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEAs, Control Plans and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience using manufacturing data to drive process improvements.
• Knowledge of OEE, SPC, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Power BI, Minitab, Excel or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with MES, production data capture, traceability systems or digital manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
• CAD experience and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
