Job summary

Permanent Futures Limited is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team. You will develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes across machining, welding, fabrication and assembly, and support production operations to uphold quality and efficiency.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will create work instructions, lead continuous improvement initiatives, investigate issues and work with cross-functional teams to meet production targets and deliver

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Experience in machining, fabrication, welding or assembly environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and production methods.
  • Create and update work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing routings.
  • Support new product introduction activities, ensuring smooth transition into production.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Investigate production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production teams to optimise workflows and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support the design and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
  • Conduct process capability studies and root cause investigations.
  • Liaise with quality, production, and design teams to ensure manufacturing requirements are achieved.
  • Assist with capacity planning and manufacturing improvement projects.

Manufacturing Engineer - Candidate Requirements
  • HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Experience working in machining, fabrication, welding, or assembly environments.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
