Precision People in Cannock is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to join a busy procurement team in a manufacturing environment. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, build strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and ensure materials are available to meet production demands.

Key responsibilities include monitoring stock levels, lead times and forecasts, maintaining accurate purchasing data, and driving cost-saving initiatives while collaborating with Production, Quality and Commercial

Formación

• Experience in procurement within manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing and payment terms.
• Strong supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of stock control, demand forecasting and lead times.

Responsabilidades

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure cost-effective procurement and on-time delivery.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier consolidation measures.
• Challenge price increases and secure discounts, rebates and favorable terms.
• Monitor stock levels, forecasts and lead times to maintain supply continuity and minimise excess inventory.
• Maintain purchasing and inventory data in company systems.
• Monitor supplier performance and address delivery issues.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Commercial departments to align purchasing with business needs.
• Address supplier quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Explore stock-management improvements (Kanban, vendor-managed inventory, min/max controls).
• Communicate purchasing price variations with Commercial team.
