Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, read engineering drawings, and follow safety guidelines.
• Maintain production logs, inspect machines for issues, and ensure tools/materials are stocked.
• Support production during busy periods with a strong safety focus.

Manual Turner

Basildon

2 Shift Rotation:

Early: Mon – Thu (0600 – 1400); Fri (0600 – 1330)

Late: Mon – Thu (1345 – 2145); Fri (1345 – 2045)

We are proud to be working with a UK market leader in precision manufacturing and are currently looking for a Manual Turner to work with them in their Basildon site.

Responsibilities

• Fully experienced in lathe (Manual Machines)
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Able to work on their own initiative but also be part of a team
• Cut, grind or drill materials as required
• Carefully following procedures and safety guidelines. Including company procedures, operating standards, and process documentation
• Maintain an accurate log of production and equipment problems, adjustments, and repairs.
• Machine inspections for mechanical or safety issues
• Ensure machines are well stocked with tools and material to ensure limited downtime
• Safety focus to ensure themselves and others are safe around operational machinery
• Flexibility to support production requirements during busier periods

Requirements

• Experience of working to high quality standards on precision components
• Knowledge of safety and manufacturing regulations and procedures
• Good knowledge of general engineering practices such as measuring/ marking off/ manual drilling / tapping / fabrication set up and tacking.
• Desirable - Experience using CNC machines
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can work effectively within a team
