Manual Machinist – Machine Shop

Location: Ramsgate, Kent

Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 2.00pm-12.15 am

Overview

Manual Machinist position within a machine shop environment. Responsibilities include supporting the overhaul of components through precision machining and ensuring quality targets are met.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake machining tasks to support component overhaul, including precision grinding, honing, boring, milling, turning, CNC turning, and bush/bearing fitting.
  • Test hydraulic and pneumatic units to specification.
  • Maintain and continuously improve plant and equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Background in mechanical/hydraulic engineering (graduates considered).
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills – minimum GCSE in both.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Strong analytical skills (written and verbal), well-organised and self-motivated.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
