Job summary

People First in London is seeking a Mandarin-speaking IT Operations Manager (Banking) to lead IT operations, maintenance and security for the London branch. The role requires fluent Mandarin and English, a Computing/Engineering degree, and solid experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure in the UK.

• Fluent Mandarin and English required.
• Degree in Computing or Engineering related field.
• Extensive IT operations, maintenance and security experience in enterprise IT.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve IT incidents and major outages.
• Willingness to learn and adapt; project management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of information security and cybersecurity is a bonus.
• Familiar with VMware and Windows/Linux administration.
• Strong risk and compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head of IT in managing the London Branch's IT functions focusing on operations and maintenance.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, system and network operations and maintenance.
• Manage day-to-day IT operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate IT changes, incidents and problems.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity and security activities.
• Support staff with IT requirements and ensure proper tech.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers.
• Support IT projects and digitalization initiatives in London branch.

IT Operations Manager - What You'll be Doing Each Day:

• Assist Head of IT in managing the London Branch's IT functions, with a particular focus on IT operations and maintenance. Primarily responsible for IT infrastructure, system and network operations and maintenance, production operations management, and related information security activities, ensuring the secure, stable, and efficient operation of the Branch's IT environment
• Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Branch's IT infrastructure.
• Manage network and core system operations and maintenance.
• Implement HO's IT operations and maintenance management requirements.
• Manage IT changes, incidents, and problems.
• Participate in disaster recovery, emergency response, and business continuity management.
• Support London Branch employees with IT requirements to ensure they have the right technology and support for their day-to-day work.
• Assist to support branch's information security work and safeguard branch's network against cybersecurity events.
• Coordinate with IT vendors and third-party technical service providers.
• Support the implementation of the Branch's IT projects.
• Assist to research new technology and support the transfer of digitalization in London branch.
• In addition to these duties, the Employee may from time to time be required to undertake additional or other duties within his/her capacity as necessary to meet the needs of the bank's business.

IT Operations Manager - The skills you need to succeed:

• Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
• Degree holder a minimum requirement; with major in Computing and/or Engineering related fields.
• Solid work experience in IT operations, maintenance, and security, with a good understanding of enterprise-level IT infrastructure and network environments.
• Independent problem solving ability, with the ability to independently resolve common issues relating to servers, networks, endpoints, and associated infrastructure, as well as quickly identify root causes, coordinate resources, and drive issue resolution during major incidents or emergencies.
• Keen to learn new skills and technology.
• Preferable with project management experience.
• Knowledge and experience on Information Security and Cybersecurity will be a bonus.
• Familiar with VMWare infrastructure and Windows/Linux operating system administration (and/or network engineering) will be a bonus.
• Strong risk and compliance awareness
