Job summary

People First Team Japan/ピープルファーストチームジャパン is seeking a Mandarin-speaking IT Junior Engineer for our banking operations. This fully office-based role requires strong infrastructure planning, server room management and IT security compliance, with a focus on ensuring reliable IT services.

You will work under the Deputy Head of IT, handle production operation management, asset management, disaster recovery planning and project tasks, and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain system stability

Qualifications

• Mandarin and English fluency required; written and spoken.
• Strong background in IT infrastructure and banking IT environments.
• Professional certifications listed in qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT infrastructure and production operations; handle asset and BC planning.
• Oversee network management, vendor relations, and Tier 2 IT support tasks.
• Cooperate with IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure smooth IT services.
• Maintain IT security hygiene and compliance with regulator instructions.
• Implement DR policies and conduct regular DR-related tests.
• Assist with server room management, virtualization, and capacity planning.
• Draft and update IT procedures, manuals, and change controls.
• Monitor performance and ensure capacity meets business needs.
• Prepare reports for HO/Data Centre and liaise with stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to bank staff on IT topics.

Mandarin speaking IT Junior Engineer - What You'll be Doing Each Day:

• Conduct IT infrastructure management, production operation management, IT asset management, business continuity management, disaster recovery, network management, vendor and third-party management, IT project management related tasks, and perform as Tier 2 IT Support.
• Incorporate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure the smooth running of IT services in the Bank. Ensure that all network maintenance is conducted in accordance with our parent bank’s instructions and local regulator;
• Perform maintenance and conduct changes for IT infrastructure and systems, make sure the performance and capacity of IT infrastructure can meet the requirement of business development and system stability.
• Compile operations and management procedures, conduct regular reviews and in turn make necessary changes so as to ensure thorough implementation of the IT policies;
• Incorporate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure the smooth running of IT services in the Bank. Ensure that all network maintenance is conducted in accordance with our parent bank’s instructions and local regulator;
• Incorporate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure that the Bank’s IT Disaster Recovery policy is comprehensive and that the policy and procedures are maintained up-to-date;
• Incorporate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure that core network security reviews are undertaken as appropriate and ensure that all of the Bank’s core network and desktops have an appropriate level of security;
• Incorporate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to maintain as well as support services for the operation of IT systems and applications.
• Draft IT manuals, procedures, guidelines of production management include IT infrastructure and IT systems (hardware and software).
• Follow the plans for IT infrastructure and systems on the basis of understanding, analysis and forecasting of demands of the various departments, make sure the performance and capacity of IT infrastructure can meet the requirement of business development and system stability.
• Conduct IT server room management, physical server and virtual machine platform, power supply management such as power generator and UPS, capacity and performance management. Conduct IT asset management such as servers, network devices, storage server, PC and laptop, video conference, landline, hardware and software inventory, configuration management. Produce relevant report.
• Implement IT infrastructure and systems include servers, storage, network device, backup system, AD, WSUS, UPS, power plant, phone, printer, virtual system maintenance include vCenter, ESXi, vmware, Ctrix etc. Execute the monitoring and solve issues in case happen.
• Incorporate with IT Infrastructure Manager to implement the security program of the computer and telecommunications systems and delegate powers to authorized users.
• Incorporate with IT Infrastructure Manager to formulate computer disaster recovery plans and arrange for relevant tests to ensure that the plan is compliant with the regulator’s requirements.
• Liaise with HO and Data Center in relation to the task of IT Systems. Prepare reports to HO and Data Centre.
• Guide and train bank staff with IT knowledge.
