People First (Recruitment) Ltd is seeking a Mandarin-speaking IT Operations Manager (Banking) in Central London. The role focuses on managing IT operations, maintenance, and security for the London Branch, ensuring secure, stable IT services and incident response.

Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential, along with a computing/engineering degree and extensive enterprise IT experience. The position is permanent with five days in the office, reporting to the Head of IT.

Your New Job Title: Mandarin speaking IT Operations Manager (Banking)

The Skills You Need: Fluent level of Mandarin and English, solid IT infrastructure / network / system maintenance experience in the UK.

Your New Salary: £70-80k depending on experience + bonus

Location: Central London

Job Status: Permanent. 5 days in the office

Report to: Head of IT

IT Operations Manager - What You'll be Doing Each Day

• Assist Head of IT in managing the London Branch’s IT functions, with a particular focus on IT operations and maintenance. Primarily responsible for IT infrastructure, system and network operations and maintenance, production operations management, and related information security activities, ensuring the secure, stable, and efficient operation of the Branch’s IT environment..
• Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Branch’s IT infrastructure.
• Manage network and core system operations and maintenance.
• Implement HO’s IT operations and maintenance management requirements.
• Manage IT changes, incidents, and problems.
• Participate in disaster recovery, emergency response, and business continuity management.
• Support London Branch employees with IT requirements to ensure they have the right technology and support for their day-to-day work.
• Assist to support branch’s information security work and safeguard branch’s network against cybersecurity events.
• Coordinate with IT vendors and third-party technical service providers.
• Support the implementation of the Branch’s IT projects.
• Assist to research new technology and support the transfer of digitalization in London branch.

In addition to these duties, the Employee may from time to time be required to undertake additional or other duties within his/her capacity as necessary to meet the needs of the bank's business.

IT Operations Manager - The skills you need to succeed

• Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
• Degree holder a minimum requirement; with major in Computing and/or Engineering related fields.
• Solid work experience in IT operations, maintenance, and security, with a good understanding of enterprise-level IT infrastructure and network environments.
• Independent problem solving ability, with the ability to independently resolve common issues relating to servers, networks, endpoints, and associated infrastructure, as well as quickly identify root causes, coordinate resources, and drive issue resolution during major incidents or emergencies.
• Keen to learn new skills and technology.
• Preferable with project management experience.
• Knowledge and experience on Information Security and Cybersecurity will be a bonus.
• Familiar with VMWare infrastructure and Windows/Linux operating system administration (and/or network engineering) will be a bonus.
• Strong risk and compliance awareness
