Job summary

National Gas, Britain's national gas network, is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a diverse project portfolio in the West Region.

You will deliver specialist commercial leadership across NEC contracts, oversee contract administration, manage cost control, and mentor regional QS teams, with hybrid working (minimum 3 days in office) and regular travel within the Bristol hub.

Qualifications

• Significant quantity surveying experience in utilities or infrastructure.
• Strong NEC2/3/4 contracting knowledge and options A/C/E.
• Experience leading dispersed QS teams and projects.
• Full UK driving licence and regionally based for West region.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management across a portfolio of construction projects.
• Provide commercial advice to Project Managers and QS teams.
• Oversee NEC contract administration and cost control.
• Monitor finances, validate payments, manage risks.
• Lead tender evaluations and commercial negotiations.
• Mentor and develop quantity surveyors in the team.
