Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd is working with an established civil engineering contractor seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team across Devon and Cornwall, delivering leadership on major infrastructure packages.

You will lead commercial delivery, oversee cost control, forecasting, CVRs and final accounts, manage procurement and subcontractor accounts, and mentor the wider team to maximise commercial returns while maintaining excellent client and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor commercial teams.
• Experience in main contractor environments.
• Strong negotiation and financial management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and complex packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee cost control, forecasting, CVRs and financial reporting.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
• Oversee contractual matters, including NEC early warnings, compensation events and change control.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and support to the wider commercial team.
• Work closely with project teams and senior management to ensure successful commercial delivery.
