Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a well regarded regional main contractor in Swindon. You will oversee multiple projects and lead the commercial team, reporting to the Commercial Manager.

The role focuses on bidding, procurement, CVR reporting, and managing client relationships. You must have a proven track record with JCT and NEC contracts and be able to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Experience developing and mentoring commercial teams.
• Willingness to commute within the Oxford area and meet UK Right to Work requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead bidding and work-winning activities.
• Oversee project procurement and CVR reporting.
• Manage and develop the commercial team, including appraisals.
• Maintain strong client relationships and resolve contractual disputes.

Managing Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a well regarded regional main contractor in Swindon.

The business operates out of several regional offices across the South of England, undertaking projects across education, commercial, defence and heritage sectors valuing typically up to £25mil. The business has reported excellent profits year on year and are in a strong financial position.

They're now looking to expand the team with an additional Managing Quantity Surveyor.

About the role of Managing Quantity Surveyor:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects concurrently and will be responsible for the team members working on those schemes. You will be reporting into the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities as Managing Quantity Surveyor:

• Heavy involvement in bidding / work-winning
• Overseeing project procurement
• Overseeing CVRs and reporting upstream
• Involvement with any contractual disputes
• Management and developing of commercial team including appraisals
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Key requirements for this Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

• Proven track record of overseeing multiple projects concurrently
• Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract
• Experience managing and developing teams
• Must live within commutable distance to Oxford
• Must have the full right to work in the UK
