Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London in Oxford is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a commercial team on multiple projects across education, commercial, and heritage sectors. The role reports to the Commercial Manager and focuses on bidding, procurement, and rigorous CVR reporting.

The successful candidate will manage and develop the commercial team, build strong client relationships, and handle contract disputes as required. A commutable distance to Oxford is essential.

• Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Experience managing and developing teams.

Managing Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a well regarded regional main contractor in Oxford. The business operates out of several regional offices across the South of England, undertaking projects across education, commercial, student accommodation and heritage valuing typically up to 25mil. The business has reported excellent profits year on year and are in a strong financial position.

They're now looking to expand the team with an additional Managing Quantity Surveyor.

About the role of Managing Quantity Surveyor:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects concurrently and will be responsible for the team members working on those schemes. You will be reporting into the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities as Managing Quantity Surveyor:

• Heavy involvement in bidding / work-winning
• Overseeing project procurement
• Overseeing CVRs and reporting upstream
• Involvement with any contractual disputes
• Management and developing of commercial team including appraisals
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Key requirements for this Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

• Proven track record of overseeing multiple projects concurrently

• Must live within commutable distance to Oxford
• Must have the full right to work in the UK
