Job summary

Bis Henderson Recruitment is seeking a commercially driven Managing Director to shape growth for two UK-based leaders in film and television production support. You will set overall direction, own commercial results and lead branch, depot and installation teams across multiple sites.

You will drive revenue growth, profitability and value, while maintaining exceptional service standards and responsible governance.

Location: Longcross, Surrey

Salary: £120,000 - £140,000

Summary: Two market-leading businesses that keep UK film and television productions moving are looking for a commercially driven, people-focused Managing Director to shape their next phase of growth, strengthen their combined offer and protect the outstanding service that has built both brands. This newly created role has overall responsibility for the performance, growth and development of both businesses. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will set a clear direction for both businesses, identify where they are stronger together and retain the identity, entrepreneurial spirit and customer focus that make each one distinctive. You will be equally comfortable shaping strategy, owning commercial results and spending time with branch, depot and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• * Develop and deliver strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability and long-term value.
• * Bring both companies together where it creates customer or operational advantage, including shared logistics, depots, cross-selling and a joined-up unit-base and ground-protection offer.
• * Lead, inspire and develop senior teams, creating clear accountability, strong succession plans and a culture of openness, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• * Ensure consistently high standards of service, safety and reliability across branches, depots, fleets and on-site delivery.
• * Improve productivity and the utilisation of fleet, equipment and infrastructure while protecting the agility customers value.
• * Own revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash flow, working capital, pricing and investment performance, supported by meaningful commercial, operational, customer and people KPIs.
• * Represent both businesses with studios, streamers, production companies, event organisers, film commissions, guilds and other industry partners.
• * Turn sustainability into a commercial advantage through credible, measurable solutions that help customers reduce their impact and achieve greener productions.
• * Maintain robust governance, risk management and compliance, including HGV fleet, lifting, installation and health and safety requirements.

Experience

• * Senior leadership experience with responsibility for commercial performance, people and operational delivery, ideally as a Managing Director or in a comparable role.
• * A strong record of delivering growth, improving performance and achieving demanding financial and operational targets.
• * Experience leading senior teams across a multi-site, multi-branch or multi-business environment.
• * Excellent commercial and financial judgement across pricing, margin, budgeting, forecasting and investment.
• * The ability to move confidently between long-term strategy and operational detail.
• * A visible, authentic leadership style that builds trust, accountability and engagement at every level.
• * Outstanding relationship-building, communication and influencing skills.
• * An appreciation of fast-moving, project-based operations and the realities of film and television production.
• * A genuine interest in sustainability and the commercial opportunities created by greener production.
• * A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
