Role Description

The Manager role at K.C CareHomes is a full-time, on-site position based in Wigan. The Manager oversees day-to-day operations of the care home, including staff scheduling, supervision, and performance management to ensure consistent, high-quality care. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant care standards, policies, and regulatory frameworks, and for maintaining accurate records and documentation. The Manager collaborates with clinical and support staff, communicates regularly with residents and their families, and addresses concerns or incidents promptly and professionally. Additional responsibilities include managing budgets and resources, supporting staff training and development, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in care home or health and social care management, with strong knowledge of residential care standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff supervision, performance management, and team-building in a care or service environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with residents, families, staff, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and documentation accurately.
• Skills in basic budgeting, resource planning, and operational oversight to ensure efficient and sustainable service delivery.
• Commitment to person-centered care, safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service provision.
• Relevant qualification in health and social care, care home management, nursing, or a related field; registration with an appropriate professional body is beneficial where applicable.
• Previous experience in an on-site management role and familiarity with Wigan or the surrounding area is an advantage.
