Job summary

Domus Recruitment is seeking an experienced Home Manager for a small provider in Merseyside. You will lead daily operations, ensure CQC compliance, oversee clinical care and medication management, and develop a capable staff team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

You will drive a positive culture, lead digital care system adoption, and ensure safe, compliant operations with a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Proven large home management experience with sustained outcomes.
  • Experience in operational leadership and stakeholder management.
  • Track record of achieving and maintaining CQC compliance.
  • Ability to manage teams, deliver improvements and sustain compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Stability in previous management roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day running of the home ensuring safe, effective, compliant operations.
  • Maintain CQC compliance and drive improvement and environmental plans.
  • Provide clinical oversight for nursing and personal care.
  • Oversee medication management in line with NMC and CQC standards.
  • Build and develop a stable staff team and improve retention.
  • Promote high-quality, person-centred care for residents.
  • Support and guide digital care systems implementation.
  • Foster a positive, professional culture within the home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant operations.
  • Maintain CQC compliance and deliver ongoing improvement and environmental action plans.
  • Provide clinical oversight to ensure residents receive the highest standards of nursing and personal care.
  • Oversee and ensure safe administration, storage, and recording of medication, in line with NMC and CQC standards.
  • Build and develop a strong, stable staff team, reducing agency use and improving retention.
  • Promote high-quality, person-centred care for all residents.
  • Support and guide digital implementation (electronic care planning and medicine management).
  • Drive a positive and professional culture within the home.
Requirements
Essential:
  • Proven Larger home management
  • Proven Operational leadership/stakeholder management
  • Home Manager with proven success in achieving and maintaining CQC compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, deliver improvements, and sustain compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Longevity and stability in previous management roles.
Desirable:
  • Nurse-qualified with an active NMC Pin (Not needed!)
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or equivalent).
  • Experience with digital care systems (care plans and eMAR).
  • Strong track record of improving and maintaining “Good” ratings.
