Job summary

Halfords is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance team at our Redditch site. You will support the preparation of monthly management accounts, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and help drive robust financial controls.

You will work in a hybrid model, 2-3 days on site at the Redditch Support Centre, with study support towards an accounting qualification and opportunities to develop your career within a forward-thinking organisation.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles including reconciliations, accruals, and month-end processes.
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable with finance systems and large datasets.
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting, or management reporting.
• Exposure to cost or inventory accounting.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, or Excel automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and related journals, accruals, and period-end reporting.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, highlighting variances.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain data integrity.
• Support month-end, year-end and audit activities with timely, accurate reporting.
• Build relationships across the business to gather financial information for stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting.
