Job summary

Transaction Recruitment supports an established services business in Redditch by recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant. The role offers hybrid working, onsite parking, and a clear progression pathway toward a Management Accountant position with full study support toward a professional qualification.

You will assist with monthly management accounts, journals, reconciliations and budgeting, while developing broad finance experience in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Studying towards AAT, or part qualified/qualified by experience towards ACCA or CIMA
• Exposure to management accounts is advantageous but not essential; experience with bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments would be a strong plus
• Good attention to detail with the ability to process high volumes of information accurately
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Confident communication skills, comfortable building relationships with non-finance stakeholders
• IT proficient, with strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts to help meet reporting deadlines
• Posting month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Act as a first point of contact for internal queries relating to the month-end process
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Help implement and maintain checks that ensure financial information is accurate and reliable
• Support the Finance Manager during year-end process, including preparing information for external auditors
• Assist with preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to the annual budget-setting process alongside the wider finance team
• Take on other reasonable ad hoc duties to support the finance function
