Management Accounts Assistant

Location: Epsom

Salary: Competitive

Cast UK partners with Bunzl Catering Supplies, a leading distributor of disposables, packaging, and hygiene solutions for the hospitality, catering, public sector, education, and healthcare industries. The company is experiencing continued growth through new customer acquisition and existing account development.

The successful Management Accounts Assistant will analyze and provide commercial insights, collaborate with the Sales team, and liaise with Suppliers to ensure effective pricing, rebate control, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Calculate and maintain accurate discount accruals.
2. Prepare discount payments monthly, quarterly, and annually.
3. Coordinate with the sales team and customers regarding discounts and assist with rebate-related matters.
4. Prepare monthly reconciliations of discount and customer balances.
5. Review rebate components of Customer Contracts & Heads of Terms.
6. Authorize and support Credit Control in coding settlement discounts and rebates.
7. Assist with annual audits related to discounts.
8. Prepare monthly supplier balance sheet reconciliations.
9. Assist with processing supplier rebate credit notes with Shared Services.
10. Work with Purchasing to ensure timely processing of shipthrough rebates to avoid negative working capital impacts.
11. Collaborate with Head of Purchasing to ensure collection of volume rebates.
12. Support ad hoc requests as needed.

Skills & Experience

1. Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience such as AAT.
2. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to communicate finance information to non-finance stakeholders.
3. Influence skills to drive commercial decision-making.
4. Strong analytical skills and adaptability.
5. Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
