The Portfolio Group is seeking a Management Accountant in Manchester to own the day-to-day finance function in a growing professional services environment. This hands-on role supports senior leadership with meaningful financial insight and helps shape the business direction.

You will deliver accurate monthly management accounts, improve reporting processes, and strengthen financial controls as the business expands. Excellent Excel skills and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis is required.
• Advanced Excel and ability to handle large data sets are important.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including full P&L and balance sheet ownership
• Deliver a weekly and monthly reporting suite to support decision-making
• Complete month-end close in line with reporting deadlines
• Ensure accuracy through reconciliations and key financial controls
• Analyse performance against budget and forecast, highlighting variances
• Lead budgeting and quarterly forecasting process and provide data-driven insights
• Oversee billing and collections processes and improve financial systems
• Produce cash flow forecasts and manage cash position
• Prepare statutory and regulatory returns for review
• Develop reporting around billable hours, work in progress, and operational performance
