Job summary

Club L London is seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to join our finance team in Manchester. You will own monthly management accounts, P&L analysis and intercompany cost reviews, reporting to the Finance Manager and collaborating with commercial and operational teams to drive profitability.

Key duties include preparing month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, supporting year-end audits and board reporting, with opportunities to lead process improvements and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified, finalist or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of management accounts preparation, P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills with large volumes of financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
• Strong communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for entities, brands and business areas with P&L analysis and commentary
• Review logistics costs, marketing expenditure, overheads and profitability, identifying variances and opportunities
• Prepare and review month-end journals ensuring accurate reporting
• Own balance sheet reconciliations including payment gateways, intercompany balances and fixed assets
• Support international tax compliance
• Partner with commercial and operational teams to analyse profitability and budgets
• Support monthly Board reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audits
• Oversee and support junior team members with development and accountability
• Drive process improvements, automation and reporting efficiencies
